We portray the 2. Panzer Division circa 1944. When you join you will need to obtain uniform and field equipment necessary to carry out this impression in a convincing and authentic fashion.
_____BASIC FIELD GEAR_____
Above is the basic personal field equipment carried by the German soldier. This equipment must be acquired within one year of joining or by your 5th event. In addition to the items shown above, the new member should acquire:
German helmet (model M35, M40 and M42. No Spanish Helmets)
Weapon (K98 rifle or other German weapon)
Jack Boots or Low Boots with Gaiters
A nice shot showing the basic gear of the German soldier, in newly issued condition. Note the tournister back packs with horse hair, leather belts and cartridge pouches, and the gray woolen socks with white rings to indicate size. The K98k's are fitted with walnut stocks, flat butt plates and early style metal muzzle caps.

Left: M1911 Cartridge
pouches; two are worn, each holding 2 stripper clips of 5 rounds each. Right: M1938 gas mask case.

Above: (Left to right) M1931 cook pot, small
entrenchng tool
and carrier, and M1931 field flask and drinking cup.
_____BASIC UNIFORM_____

Low cut boots with ankle gaiters.

Actual WWII German soldiers showing hair styles. Actually quite long on top, short and tapered up the sides and back No hair touches the ears or the collar.
We portray the 2. Panzer Division between D-Day and the end of the war. As a new recruit during this time, you would have most likely been issued the M43 tunic, M43 cap and M42 service trousers and M43 shirt. These would have been worn with the low boots with gaiters (although we allow jack boots). This is the uniform that all 2. panzer Enlisted Men are required to wear.

German soldiers undergoing training exercises showing the proper arrangement of personal field gear: leather 'Y-straps', mess kit, rolled zeltbahn (shelter quarter), gas mask canister, bayonet, bread bag and canteen (field flask).
___APPEARANCE____
One of the most important
aspects of your impression
is your appearance. The best uniform and gear will be
worthless if your personal appearance is not applicable
to the look of the typical German soldier. As a rule, the German soldier was
clean shaven. Hair was shaved from the neck and tapered up to the top of the
ears all the way around and slicked straight back, actually worn quite long on
the top. Although we do not require this haircut, hair must be basically short
on sides and back and must not touch the collar of hang over the ears.
Modern looking glasses are not allowed. If you can't wear contacts, small round
glasses with silver frames and ear loops are available. More information will be
provided in your 2. Panzer handbook (handbuch).
____INSIGNIA____
*Shoulder Boards - Enlisted Man's with field grey
background and grass green piping.
*Breast Eagle - Subdued type Bevo quality late issue.
*Collar Tabs - Subdued type Bevo quality mouse grey color.
